Museum on Main Street (MoMs) SPEAKER EVENT:

Please join us at the Brenham Heritage Museum Bus Depot and Gallery on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024 from 5:30-6:30 pm for a fascinating lecture by University of Texas at Austin Professor James Kearney. The topic of his discussion will be: “The Affair of 1885.”

Professor James Kearney specializes in Texan-German history and is the author of four books: Nassau Plantation; The Evolution of a Texas German Slave PlantationFriedrichsburg; The Colony of the German FürstenvereinDetlef Dunt’s Travels to Texas in 1834, and No Hope for Heaven; No Fear of Hell: Private Justice in Colorado County. Professor Kearney’s book Friedrichsburg received the Summerfield G. Roberts award for the best book on Texas history for the year 2012.

This presentation will take place at the BHM Bus Depot and Gallery at 313 East Alamo Street in Downtown Brenham, Texas. This program is in conjunction with the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street Program to take place in Downtown Brenham during Winter of 2024-2025.
