Throughout the month of February 2015, the Star of the Republic Museum will recognize Black History Month with a special exhibit opening and featured weekend activities. February 1 will mark the opening of "Enduring Spirit: African Americans in 19th Century Texas" an exhibit that highlights some of the most pivotal events that influenced the history of African Americans in Texas.
