Danni Fourton Morford is a native of Abilene, Texas and a wife and mother. A lifelong journal and letter writer, her book of letters Shoot My Ashes from a Cannon: Beyond Addiction was published in 2019. After the death of her son Travis, she founded the grassroots organization DOA: Disease of Addiction to bring awareness to a disease shrouded with stigma. She facilitates grief support groups for moms and couples at the Christi Center in Austin and has served on its Board. She has also been an Advisory Board member of Austin Recovery, is involved with the University High School, the first safe sober high school in Austin, as well as Alpha/180, the first sober fraternity in Austin.
