Free to park visitors. Snakes are interesting and diverse creatures, and as most property owners in Texas know, they often come free with the property! The more we learn, the more we know how to react when we come across a snake, and the more we can approach the situation from a place of knowledge and not emotion. Join us as we explore the beauty and habits of some snakes that we routinely see at Washington on the Brazos Historic Site, and learn about the interesting habits and folklore of these famous and infamous (and shall we say, ‘misunderstood?’) animals. We will include such interesting snakes as Copperheads, Texas Rat Snakes, Coral Snakes, Brazos Water Snakes, and others. Although there are no promises, we do hope to have live specimens on hand (contained, of course!). The session will last approximately 2 hours, including classroom education and a nature walk,
