The one-day school is designed to help those interested in Beekeeping to understand what is involved in starting the hobby and becoming active in beekeeping. Our beginning sessions will introduce the participants to bees and explain how they work\, what it takes to safely handle bees and where to purchase the necessary equipment. Students will even be able to "suit up" and observe while a live beehive is opened and examined.\n\nFor those that already have bees\, intermediate sessions are available to help learn about bee diseases\, proper hive management for honey and how to raise queens. We have added an advanced section this year that allows those that have attended the school before to pursue more intense subjects.\n\nThe school begins at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday\, March 25 at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Brenham and concludes at 5:30 with the drawing for many major door prizes. A catered Bar-B-Que meal complete with Blue Bell Ice Cream (we ARE in Brenham!) for dessert is included in the admission price.\n\nA vendors area will be available with items to purchase.
