Washington County is known for wildflowers, especially bluebonnets. They are a key factor that drives our local economy each spring and leads to a major rise in business activity.
To maintain our status as one of the most scenic regions in the state, and keep the tourism impact that the wildflowers generate, there is a need to re-seed wildflowers along Highway 290 and sow seeds in safe public viewing spots.
The Chamber is spearheading a project to scatter seeds along “A Mile A Year.” We would like to thank the sponsors who have helped to launch a successful first year:
