          2015 Photo Contest Winners

Thanks to all the participants who entered the 2015 “A Slice of Life in Washington County” Photo Contest. More than 100 submissions were received from 10 individuals, giving the anonymous judges a large selection from which to choose our three winners.

Entries were received from Houston, The Woodlands, and Bryan, as well as Brenham and Washington County. Judges selected the following winners:

Grand Prize – “Sunrise” by Michael Mallory, Houston, who wrote “Brenham has the best landscapes and scenery. When you add the sunrises and sunsets, you will be amazed what Mother Nature’s show will give you.”

Second Place – “WC Rocking Bluebonnets” by perennial participant Murry Grigsby, The Woodlands, who described his entry as follows: “This perfect batch of bluebonnets was blooming next to a rock bridge abutment for everyone to see.”

Third Place – “Blue Bell” by Brandy Scott, Bryan, who described her entry as follows: “New life represented by the cute puppy, new fresh Spring bluebonnets with Blue Bell all encompass a slice of life in Washington County.”

The 2016 Photo Contest is already under way and will run the full calendar year, with a deadline of December 30, 2016. Entry forms can be found online at either www.brenhamtexas.com or www.visitbrenhamtexas.com or picked up at the Chamber of Commerce office, 314 S. Austin Street, or the Visitor Center at 115 W. Main Street in Brenham.

In addition to the springtime wildflowers coming soon, always be on the lookout for iconic subjects that represent “A Slice of Life in Washington County.”
