Tips to Avoid Bank Jugging
The Brenham Police Department is asking citizens to increase their awareness when conducting financial transactions that involve transporting large sums of cash. On Thursday, Feb. 2, a customer from one of Brenham’s local financial institutions withdrew a significant amount of cash and was in the process of transporting the funds to a safe location. The customer stopped to run a quick errand and upon his return learned that suspect(s) forced entry into his vehicle and stole the money. This type of criminal activity is known as Bank Jugging.
