Job Description
MIG WELDER
Monday – Thursday
7:00 am – 5:00 pm
Friday
7:00 am – 3:00 pm, some occasional Saturday’s
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour, DOE
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g., cut material, roll material, weld material) 
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Advise management on needed actions
  • Maintain effective communication with the Weld Lead to achieve desired results
  • Operate heavy machinery and equipment, including overhead cranes and cutting torches
  • Follow U/L Guidelines
  • Keep a safe and clean work area
  • Responsibilities are not limited to this list
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS 
  • A minimum of two (2) years of industry experience preferred
  • Management experience preferred
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (MIG, TIG, MMA etc.) 
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings 
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
  • Deftness, attention to detail, and detail oriented
  • Professional Certification (e.g., an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus 
  • Effective communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • Computer literacy 
  • Ability to stand for multiple hours
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve
  • Familiarity with Warehouse environment
  • Experience operating forklifts
  • Must be able to pass a 1G Weld test
